It’s Too Late for Teen But Not for Others story in ABQ Journal for Feb. 22nd about smoking heroin dangers. We have found evidence of this at the linear park on the north side of Casa Bonito several times—blackened aluminum foil or pie tin thrown at the roadside. Once I came upon a smoked filled car with young men about 3:30 or 4pm on a school day.
Evidently the kids experiment and think nothing injected or swallowed, just breathe in.

Later I called 242-COPS and was told that the people must be on the scene for a response from the police. Probably most of this activity is in the evening when they are least visible. Nobody in the park, no neighbors aware of these happenings as the participants are out of view.

Also two teenage girls in a green Volkswagen frequently seen smoking in the linear parking lot on Candelaria. I caught a whiff of marijuana one time.

Another concern seen from the south side of Casa Bonita and the linear park, teens shooting guns in a back yard. This two story light colored stucco home backs up to the linear park.

I am not trying to be the teacher on patrol, but I hate to see our young people in dangerous situations. Kids like to drink and smoke, but when is it time to call the cops?

This was sent to me via email to me.
