Dear Neighbors,
I am pleased to announce the re-opening of the James Dwyer Memorial Police Substation, at intersection of Tramway/Montgomery NE! This beautiful facility has been unoccupied for several years as budget and personnel issues forced us to consolidate at the Jeff Russell Memorial Substation (12800 Lomas Blvd. NE). Thanks to an appropriation from Councilor Trudy Jones, we are opening the Dwyer Mini-Sub Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. You may file police reports, pick up police reports, request crime statistics, crime analysis reports, and receive crime prevention material at this location. Scott Maddox can be reached at (505)-332-5254.
Chaplain Leo Collymore brought me an idea several months back that is very heart warming. He told me that he was planning on gathering items for a gift basket for a needy family. This family would be chosen from a local elementary school. Where one is a good idea, twenty five is a better idea! I asked Chaplain Collymore if he would like to make this a bigger project with the Officers getting involved. So now, WE are gathering donations to provide 25 local families with a Holiday Dinner, toys for the children in the family, and some good cheer for a family. Five of our local elementary schools are working to identify the families and Chaplain Collymore is building the boxes. Uniformed Officers will be delivering these boxes the week before Christmas and spending a little time with the family. If you'd like to donate to this worthy undertaking, please contact Chaplain Collymore at 850-9004.
