Auto Thefts ON THE RISE Empty Auto Thefts ON THE RISE

Post  Admin Tue Jan 31, 2012 4:43 pm

We recently received below email from APD.

Please pass the word along to the rest of our neighbors.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

From: "Saylor, Cliff B."
Date: January 31, 2012 8:20:49 AM MST
Subject: Auto Thefts are on the rise
Dear Neighbors,

The Albuquerque Police Department and Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office are experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of auto thefts reported over the past 2 weeks. The vast majority of these were cars left 'warming up' and unattended. Thieves are known to drive/walk through neighborhoods looking for cars left running and unattended. This is a common occurrence during these cold mornings and this reckless behavior must be stopped.

Please spread the word. Let's not give criminals this senseless opportunity! Send this e-mail and the attached Auto Theft Prevention Flyer.

Stay Safe,

Cliff Saylor, Commander
Albuquerque Police Department
Foothills Area Command
12800 Lomas Bd. NE
Albuquerque, NM 87112
(505) 332-5240

Integrity, Respect, Fairness, Pride.
