Subject: Neighbor Alert from APD Foothills Area Command Crime Prevention Specialist
Hi Neighbors,
I wanted to pass along an alert about some recent suspicious behavior relayed to me today that’s occurring in the Foothills Area Command. There is a team of 3 persons (2 white females and 1 black male,) driving a blue pick up truck and the female subjects are hopping out of the truck with a baby stroller while the male waits up the block. The females are then taking the stroller and going up to homes trying the front doors to enter – they are not door-belling or knocking – they are trying the door knobs as if attempting to walk right into homes. They have been seen at 12-12:30 and 2:00 – 4:00 in the afternoons on weekdays. When they fail at getting into a house, they catch up to the male driving the truck, throw the baby carriage in the truck bed and take off (obviously there isn't a baby in the stroller!). Since they are being driven in a vehicle, I want all over our Foothills neighbors to know about this in case they decide to try this in another area.
Please keep all your doors and windows locked, alarms on, check doors for properly working locks and door frame reinforcements and consider additional locks on windows and sliding glass doors. I have placed a periodic watch request here at the Foothills Area Command for our officers to be on the lookout for these subjects.
I am asking you to be observant and call 242-COPS (2677) if you see these subjects or similar behavior in your communities. Please be safe and share this information with your families and neighbors.
