APD Foothills Area Command Crime News, October 25, 2013

Please share with your neighbors, family and friends!

Auto Burglary “Clusters” – APD is seeing clusters of auto burglaries – multiple auto burglaries on one block.
The Foothills had 4 auto burglaries on 1 block on Thursday, October 24th.

Common themes? Offenders broke windows to gain entry to the vehicles.
Purses, wallets, cell phones and a backpack were left in vehicles by victims.

Crime Prevention Tips:
Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle, whether ‘hidden’ or not!
If you see ‘casing’ type of behavior or hear glass breaking in the wee hours of the morning, call 242-COPS and report it!

Interesting Fact: The block where these crimes occurred was 1 block surrounded by 3 blocks with active, recently formed Neighborhood Watches and had Neighborhood Watch signs. Not 1 vehicle was broken into on the blocks with Neighborhood Watch groups.
