Groups of People Posing as Fake County Assessors

Info from the Dellwood Neighborhood Association meeting notes. (bounded by Candelaria, Pennsylvania, Comanche, Wyoming)

In that meeting, it was mentioned that the County had announced that they would be conducting audits of residences to determine if any taxable structures existed that were not on county records, and therefore subject to taxes.

See one individual’s story following their meeting…

“I just had 3 guys come to my front door saying they were with the Assessors Office. They had badges but no vests. The car had a grouping of crosses on it with no words. They asked questions and wanted to see my back porch. I told them to drive around the house to Dellwood and they could see it from the street. They got in their car and drove away.

I called the Assessors Office. Men are not in our neighborhood yet. Not at all.
They travel in a large 15 person van clearly marked as County Assessor. They wear green vests covered with county assessor all over them as well as sporting badges. They will come as a single person or two but never as three. They should never ask to come inside.
