Foothills Area Command Crime Prevention: June 6, 2014
Please share with your neighborhood associations,
Neighborhood Watchgroups, and Crime Free Multi-Housing property management teams and residents.

Property Crime in the Foothills
Stolen Vehicles: Trend – pick-ups and motorcycles are being targeted . This week, keys were stolen from one victim's vehicle and used to steal the victim's second vehicle. Don't let this happen - remove all items of value from your vehicle when you exit the vehicle. Lock up!

Foothills Substation Lobby Display: Auto theft prevention - pick up some brochures and learn how to harden your targets!

Residential Burglaries: Trend - Unforced entries into homes by offenders via unlocked doors, windows. Lock up! Vacant homes are also targeted.

Auto Burglaries: What items were stolen from unattended vehicles last week? Purses, Cash, Bags, CDs. Remove all items of value from the vehicle and Lock Up! Parking lots at apartment complexes, shopping areas and trail heads were target-rich environments over the past week.

Vandalism: Upending trash bins, bashing mail boxes, egging vehicles and homes, tossing firecrackers from vehicles - you would think the world has gone crazy! If you have been a victim file a police report -- the information helps us identify areas that need crime prevention help.

Note: National Night Out Clarification!
In early July recognized Neighborhood Association Presidents and Neighborhood Watch Block Captains will be getting mailed instructions from Crime Prevention Manager Steve Sink on how to register an event for National Night Out. Any other groups interested in registering for a National Night Out event can call the Citizens Contact Center ('311) in mid-July.
