Dear Foothills Area Command Neighbors,
I’d like to pass on some crime prevention tips to you as the weather is getting warmer and our days are longer. Please share with your memberships, family and friends.
To add a layer of protection to your homes, please remember to:
• Keep doors and windows locked, even while you are home.
• Do not leave garage doors open! I’ve seen an slight increase here.
• If you leave town for vacation, call 332-5240 for a Periodic Watch and have a trusted neighbor pick up your mail, newspapers and roll in your trash bin.
To protect your vehicles and property in vehicles, please consider:
• Carrying your vehicle registration with you on your person when you leave your vehicle unattended; I have seen a trend spike in our area of criminals breaking into vehicles for the sole purpose of stealing the registrations. This information is being used to get title loans!
• Keep your garage door opener with you when you exit the vehicle; don’t give a criminal the key to your home by leaving this behind!
• Purses and wallets are still the most commonly stolen items from vehicles – don’t be a burglary victim AND an identity theft victim!
Thanks everyone, please stay safe and look out for each other. If you see one of our officers on your block, please wave! They are working hard to be your partners in Crime Prevention,
