Property Crime in the Foothills
Stolen Vehicles: Trend - vehicles parked at entertainment venues targeted over the past week.
Foothills Substation Lobby Display: Auto theft prevention materials -
pick up some brochures and learn how to harden your targets!
WE NEED YOUR HELP-GARAGE DOORS/ BURGLARS:
Residential Burglaries: Trend - Open garage doors attracting criminals. Officers are looking for a pair of males committing burglaries via open garage doors -- one is driving a white Olds Alero with the trunk open while the other male runs into an open garage to steal whatever he can grab. It is critical to your safety to keep garage door closed. Call 242- COPS (2677) if you see these subjects.
Unlocked doors and wind ows -We had several burglaries where the method of entry was through an unlocked door or window, one through a broken window that had not been repaired. Lock up, invest in anti-lift/anti-slide mechanisms for windows or place a dowel in the track to prevent window from being slid out of tracks.
Vacant Homes: We need your extra eyes on the block to watch for anyone suspicious lingering around a vacant home. Call 242-COPS
(2677) with the best description you can provide from a safe place and an officer will be dispatched if you see suspicious persons at vacant homes.
Auto Burglaries:
What items were stolen from unattended vehicles this week?
Tools - Wallets - Checkbooks - Purses - Bags - Rosary - Work Access ID
We saw several unforced entry cases this week - which means victims left doors unlocked or windows rolled down . Make it harder and riskier for criminals to victimize you by locking up, rolling up windows, and removing all items from the vehicle when you park.
