Dear Foothills Community Partners,
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is John Thies and I am the new Area Commander for the Jeff Russell Memorial Substation, Foothills Area Command. I have been a member of the Albuquerque Police Department for over 17 years and have been recently promoted to Commander. I have served in Field Services, but most of my career has been within the Investigations Division, i.e. Impact, Robbery, Homicide, and most recently Property Crimes with a short period in Internal Affairs. Along with this experience, I am a graduate from Bemidji State University in Minnesota and Northwestern University Police Staff and Command School.
My goal as the Foothills Area Commander is to continue our existing partnerships and begin forming new relationships with the members of the community. Our support and commitment to these partnerships will serve as the backbone for reducing crime in this community.
I'm very excited and look forward to meeting with you in the future. I can be reached at the Foothills Substation at 332-:-5240 or by e-mail at jthies@cabq.gov
Sincerely,
John Thies, Commander Foothills Area Command
