NEW Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Empty NEW Neighborhood Traffic Management Program

Post  Admin Wed Sep 24, 2014 1:32 pm

Dear Neighbors,

The Streets and Traffic Enhancement Program (STEP), which is the proposed successor to the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, has been submitted to City Council for adoption. STEP establishes requirements and procedures for the implementation of traffic calming measures in our neighborhoods. Councilor Benton is sponsoring the legislation, R-14-99, by request of the Administration.

As Chair of the Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee (LUPZ), Councilor Benton moved last week to defer LUPZ action on STEP until the October 15 meeting in order to provide neighborhood associations and the public adequate time to review the program and issue any comments pertaining to it.

The resolution and draft plan can be viewed online: R-14-99. Councilor Benton invites you to provide input for consideration prior to the next LUPZ public hearing. Send your comments to Tom Menicucci, Policy Analyst II, City Council Office, 768-3126, tmenicucci@cabq.gov. You are also welcome to attend and make comments at the hearing on Wednesday, October 15 at 5:00 pm in the Council Committee Room on the 9th floor of the City/County Government building.

Please share this with your neighbors and other members of your association!

Sincerely,

Diane Dolan
